چکیده

The molar enthalpies of solution of sodium in methanol, ethanol, and n-propanol and of sodium alkoxides in their corresponding alcohols were measured at T = 298.15 K using an isoperibol solution calorimeter. From these results and other auxiliary data, the standard molar enthalpies of formation DfH mðRONa; crÞ of sodium methoxide, sodium ethoxide, and sodium n-propoxide were calculated and found to be {( 366.21 ± 1.38), ( 413.39 ± 1.45), and ( 441.57 ± 1.18)} kJ Æ mol , respectively. A linear correlation has been found between DfH mðRONaÞ and DfH mðROHÞ for R = n-alkyl, enabling the prediction of data for other sodium alkoxides. 2006 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Organic carbonates: experiment and ab initio calculations for prediction of thermochemical properties.

This work has been undertaken in order to obtain data on thermodynamic properties of organic carbonates and to revise the group-additivity values necessary for predicting their standard enthalpies of formation and enthalpies of vaporization. The standard molar enthalpies of formation of dibenzyl carbonate, tert-butyl phenyl carbonate, and diphenyl carbonate were measured using combustion calori...

Calorimetric and computational study of indanones.

Condensed phase standard (p degrees = 0.1 MPa) molar enthalpies of formation for 1-indanone, 2-indanone, and 1,3-indandione were derived from the standard molar enthalpies of combustion, in oxygen, at T = 298.15 K, measured by static bomb combustion calorimetry. The standard molar enthalpies of sublimation for 1-indanone and 2-indanone, at T = 298.15 K, were measured both by correlation-gas chr...

Substituent effects on the energetics and aromaticity of aminomethylbenzoic acids.

The standard (p0 = 0.1 MPa) molar enthalpies of combustion of six aminomethylbenzoic acids were measured at T = 298.15 K by static bomb calorimetry. With these values, the standard molar enthalpies of formation in the crystalline state were obtained. Combining these results with the standard molar enthalpies of sublimation, the standard molar enthalpies of formation in the gaseous phase were de...

Thermochemical studies on 3-methyl-quinoxaline-2-carboxamide-1,4-dioxide derivatives: enthalpies of formation and of N-O bond dissociation.

The standard molar enthalpies of formation of the 3-methyl-N-R-2-quinoxalinecarboxamide-1,4-dioxides (R = H, phenyl, 2-tolyl) in the gas phase were derived using the values for the enthalpies of combustion of the crystalline compounds, measured by static bomb combustion calorimetry, and for the enthalpies of sublimation, measured by Knudsen effusion, at T = 298.15 K. These values have also been...

Thermodynamic properties of quinoxaline-1,4-dioxide derivatives: a combined experimental and computational study.

The mean (N-O) bond dissociation enthalpies were derived for three 2-methyl-3-(R)-quinoxaline 1,4-dioxide (1) derivatives, with R = methyl (1a), ethoxycarbonyl (1b), and benzyl (1c). The standard molar enthalpies of formation in the gaseous state at T = 298.15 K for the three 1 derivatives were determined from the enthalpies of combustion of the crystalline solids and their enthalpies of sublim...
